Self-Care is more than just facials and bubble baths. It's about taking actions that help you feel happier and healthier. It's about managing your overall well-being and maintaining balance in different areas of your life. This can include speaking your feelings, eating healthy, exercising, changing careers and pursuing your passions. When we are not practicing good self-care, we are ignoring our needs. Life can then feel overwhelming and stressful. We can also feel frustrated with ourselves and the things we are doing.
Where do you need to create balance in your life?
In order to make changes in our lives, we first need to be honest about where we are currently in life. I put together this satisfaction quiz below to help you get clarity on what areas of your life need the most attention. This is a great writing exercise, so grab your journals, notebooks or some paper. :-)
On a scale of 1-10 how satisfied are you currently in each of the following areas of your life?
Circle or write down the number that best represents how you feel (1 being satisfied and 10 being completely satisfied). Then write down why you chose that number for each category.
Answer the following questions after completing the exercise above, in a journal or on a piece of paper.
1) What stood out for you the most after completing this exercise?
2) How do you feel about that?
3) What would you like to improve the most?
4) What do you need to do in order to do that?
5) How would your life be different?
6) What if nothing changed?
7) How would that feel?
8) What is one action you can take in the next week?
